Atlético de Madrid's president has stated that Barcelona will not be signing Sergio Agüero after speculation mounted that the Catalans were preparing a summer move for the star striker.
Enrique Cerezo has sought to end any speculation linking Sergio Agüero with a move to Barcelona as Atlético de Madrid prepare to meet the Catalan outfit in the Copa del Rey on Tuesday.
Los Colchoneros' president is adamant that rumours suggesting that the Argentinian could be tempted to Camp Nou are wide of the mark and that he is happy where he is.
Barcelona were said to be interested in making a move for Agüero in the summer with club supremo Joan Laporta hoping to land him to leave himself a legacy when he has to step down as president in 2010.
"Kun will not go to Barça. He is doing well with Atlético and this is where he wants to stay," Cerezo said.
The Blaugrana are favourites to win the tie but the Atleti chief does not believe that there will be a repeat of the huge victory that Barcelona recorded in the league before Christmas.
"We go into the game with no thoughts about avenging the 6-1 defeat that we suffered in Camp Nou. We just want to win," Cerezo continued.
"What happened in that league game was an accident because it is not normal to score three goals in eight minutes like they did then.
"In this cup tie there are no favourites and I expect that both games will provide both teams with plenty of chances."
