Atlético Madrid will take on Barcelona this evening without their most talismanic player, after Sergio Agüero was ruled out this morning.
Marca reports that the Argentine, along with Antonio López, is suffering from pharyngitis, more commonly known as a sore throat, and has a bit of a fever.
Agüero was set to start on the bench for the match, but López was in the starting eleven for Atlético, and he will be frustrated at missing a chance to impress.
In their places have come Luís García and Mariano Pernía, the latter of whom should start at left-back, whilst the midfielder will be on the bench.
Atlético welcome Barcelona to the Vicente Calderón for their first meeting since the 6-1 mauling earlier in the season, and the home side will no doubt be eager for revenge.
To show his intent, Javier Aguirre has included both Maniche and Maxi Rodríguez in the side, neither of whom was able to play at the Mestalla at the weekend.
Atlético Madrid squad to face Barcelona: Coupet, Leo Franco, Seitaridis, Pernía, Heitinga, Ujfalusi, Perea, Maxi Rodríguez, Paulo Assunçao, Maniche, Banega, Miguel de las Cuevas, Simao, Forlán, Luís García, Sinama Pongolle.
