Lalas: Beckham Could Extend Milan Stay Empty Lalas: Beckham Could Extend Milan Stay

The former LA Galaxy general manager has declared that Becks "will have to do what he feels appropriate for his career" and may not go back to the USA.

David Beckham is eager to make his Serie A debut at the Stadio Olimpico on Sunday night, as Milan will face Roma.

The England international will not have many chances to shine in the peninsula, because he is expected to go back to his club Los Angeles Galaxy in March, ahead of the start of the MLS season, but Alexi Lalas has left the door open to a sensational rethink.

“I believe David wants to do well with the Galaxy, but you only have one career,” he told BBC Radio 5 Live.

“The experience he is going to have at Milan will benefit him individually, he's back in his comfort zone at Milan, playing with one of the biggest clubs in the world, with a tremendous amount of talent around him.

“The Galaxy will survive without David Beckham, whether that is three years from now or three months from now. He has to do what he feels appropriate for his career…”

The Diavoli have signed Golden Balls on loan until the end of the season, but there is a ‘gentleman’s agreement’ in the deal to release the midfielder next March.

However, it was also revealed earlier this week that a clause in his contract with the California-based side would allow him to walk away at the end of the next MLS season.
