Bayern Munich captain Mark van Bommel has been issued an ultimatum of sorts by his club who have warned him that the new deal on the table for him represents their final offer...
The tough-tackling Dutch midfielder, whose current deal expires in June, is currently mulling over a one-year contract offer from the Bavarian giants, although he is reportedly unhappy with regard to the length of the new deal.
"There is from our side, neither something new nor something to change. The offer stands," Bayern chairman Karl-Heinz Rummenigge told local reporters.
"Mark has up until the end of the month to decide whether he takes it or not. The ball is in his court."
In related news, fears over an injury suffered by van Bommel in Bayern's latest friendly have proved unfounded as tests have since shown that the 31-year-old only suffered a bruised knee during the 3-1 victory over Al Wheda in Jeddah in Dubai.
