    1. FC Köln general manager Michael Meier has attempted to reign in the excitement caused by reports that they have virtually agreed a deal to buy back Lukas Podolski from Bayern Munich...

FC Bayern chairman Karl-Heinz Rummenigge recently went on record as saying that talks with the Cologne club are progressing very well but Meier made sure to stress that they are still a ways away from securing a deal to bring the prodigal son back home.

"We haven't reached an agreement with Bayern yet. No one should think that it's only a question of putting pen to paper now", he told a throng of reporters who had congregated at the gates of the club's training ground.

"We have held talks with FC Bayern and Lukas Podolski, but there are still some obstacles left. We definitely need the help and cooperation of FC Bayern", Meier added.

The 23-year-old Germany international has made clear his intention to leave the Allianz Arean, as it has become increasingly clear that he does not fit into Juergen Klinsmann's immediate plans.
