Sir Alex believes his side must win all of their remaining home games, starting with Chelsea tomorrow, if they are to clinch the title...

Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson has admitted his side must win all of their remaining home fixtures if they are to retain their Premier League crown.

The Red Devils currently sit seven points behind leaders Liverpool with two games in hand and will entertain Chelsea at Old Trafford tomorrow.

The reigning champions still have to face Arsenal and Liverpool at home, whilst their games in hand, against Fulham and Wigan Athletic, are also to be played at the Theatre of Dreams.

According to Sky Sports, Ferguson has identified his side’s home fixtures as key to winning the league.

"Our home form has to be 100 per cent to give us an outstanding chance of winning the league," he said before adding, "In the run-in, you're always going to drop points. We've dropped points in the run-in in the past, but you just hope you don't drop as many points as other teams - that's what it comes down to."

Should United win their two games in hand, they will be sitting just one point behind Liverpool, with Rafael Benitez’s men yet to visit Old Trafford. Ferguson, then, is well aware of how vital those games are.

"Obviously our home record, which is good, needs to be again," nodded the Scot, "The two games we have in hand give us the opportunity to close the gap on those clubs at the top. Those two games are at home and it's important we take advantage."

The European champions' home form so far this season is good: Ferguson’s men have dropped only two points at Old Trafford this season and are unbeaten in eight games.

However, next up is the visit of Chelsea, which Fergie is prioritising. He explained: "The the first thing is to win Sunday's game, as that's the one which can set us on our way."
