Hoffenheim Boss Rangnick: Title Is Bayern's To Lose Empty Hoffenheim Boss Rangnick: Title Is Bayern's To Lose

Hoffenheim coach Ralf Rangnick has once again moved to temper the massive expectations born out of their über-sensational first half to the season...

The newly promoted side from Sinsheim have been the headline-grabbers of the season so far and lead the Bundesliga at the halfway stage by goal difference over the defending champions. Vedad Ibisevic is the league's top goalscorer with 18 in 17 games and some people have spoken of Hoffenheim as genuine title contenders.

Rangnick is not one to believe his own club's hype, however.

"If Bayern play a normal season, then they will win the title," he said in an interview with the Bild am Sonntag.

"We still regard ourselves as a promoted side and not on a par with Bayern.

"We cannot pretend that experience does not play any role at all. I do not see us as a rival to Bayern.

"If we play like we did in the first half of the season but lose a few games unfortunately and finish sixth, I would still be happier than if we played badly but came fourth," he concluded.
