After being drawn against their bitter rivals Liverpool in the FA Cup, the Everton defender is keen to get started...

With both sides in fine form of late, Everton defender Phila Jagielka has said that his side are ready for the consecutives games against Liverpool.

The Toffees face their fierce rivals at Anfield next Monday in their Premier League clash and then host their city rivals in the fourth round of the FA Cup.

The Merseyside derby was the tie of the round and is sure to be an action packed affair, and the former Sheffield United defender believes that his side are in the right form and frame of mind to face Liverpool consecutively.

Speaking to Sky Sports, Jagielka said, "A few months ago we couldn't buy a clean sheet, but now we have started to defend really well and it's six games without us conceding now.

"We are performing well, getting the lead and then seeing out games with the way we are playing at the back. It is certainly the right form to be in going into two games with Liverpool next."

The Toffees will be without influential midfielder Marouane Fellaini after the Belgian picked up his tenth yellow card against Hull City yesterday, meaning he will miss out on both games against Liverpool and Jagielka admits it's a big loss.

"The shame is that Fellaini got booked and is now banned from the two derbies," said Jagielka. "We all knew he was on a tightrope, but he was always likely to get booked over the next few games so he would have missed a couple of games anyway.

"But we are not happy with the free-kick given against him that caused that latest booking. It was a bit pathetic really, to get booked for something like that, he took the ball and their lad (Michael Turner) ducked really low.

"But we have to get on with it now without him for both the Liverpool games."
