The Rossoblu travel to San Siro tonight with nothing to lose as they face champions and current league leaders Inter on matchday 18 of Serie A.
Cagliari coach Massimiliano Allegri knows that against Inter the odds are firmly stacked against his team but that does not worry him too much.
Despite the offensive power of the Nerazzurri, Allegri believes that his side can still do well if they take advantage of the few chances that they will have.
“They will attack us but we must be prepared to push ourselves forward when we will have the ball,” explained the Sardinian side’s coach. “It’s the first game of the year, therefore, something peculiar is always possible. Obviously if we put it on the logical level, we are destined to succumb.
“We have the characteristics of a technical team and we shall put all our ability onto the pitch.
“They can score at any moment of the game and they proved this against Chievo. They have an incredibly vast range of offensive solutions.”
The Rossoblu managed to pull themselves out of bottom position following a disastrous start to the season and are now 13th place with 21 points from 17 games, seven points above the relegation zone.
