Milan’s Andrei Shevchenko could be set for a loan move to Sampdoria this month, according to the latest reports.
Andrei Shevchenko has failed to rediscover his best scoring form in a Milan shirt since rejoining the club in the summer from Chelsea. With this in mind, the player has been linked elsewhere, as he looks to resurrect his career.
Sampdoria are a club that have expressed their interest in the hitman over the course of the season, and the latest reports suggest that the Ukrainian may be closer to a move away from Milan than we think.
Sportsmediaset has reported that despite still being in the early stages of a confirmed deal, an agreement between Milan and Sampdoria could be reached in the coming days, most likely for a six month loan period, which will see Sheva play out the rest of the season in Genoa.
If Sampdoria are successful in attaining the services of the Ukrainian international, then it would not be the worst move for the player or for both clubs involved.
As previously mentioned, Shevchenko would have the chance to rediscover his best form at a new club, whilst Samp would take a big step towards ensuring they avoid relegation.
With Sampdoria’s Emiliano Bonazzoli nearing a move to Reggina, the Blucerchiati are desperate to sign another attacker in the January transfer period, making Sheva the ideal replacement.
Both clubs are yet to comment on the potential transfer, and for now these reports remain mere rumours. One way or the other, confirmation is expected within the next 24 hours.
