Txiki Begiristain believes that Barcelona's performance against Atlético de Madrid proved just how strong the Catalan club's squad is and that Pep Guardiola was correct to rotate.
The Blaugrana's technical secretary was impressed with the 3-1 win and said that the strength-in-depth was key to success this term after two years without a major trophy.
Lionel Messi scored a hat-trick in a game that saw Barça rest several regular stars and give a chance to shadow players such as José Manuel Pinto, Martín Cáceres and Sylvinho.
"The line-up this evening was very good if we are going to analyse things player-by-player. There have been changes, but these players have done very well and all deserved to play," Sport quote Begiristain as saying.
"Maybe the area that was affected the most was the defence, but there is no reason to make anyone nervous.
"I believe that there are many combinations that can be made to make up the team. That is what Pep Guardiola is doing. We have a very complete squad."
Messi opened the scoring in the first half and then added two more after the break, but Begiristain believes that the game was not easy despite the number of chances Barça had.
"When we had control of the ball we were able to reach their area quickly, even though it was not easy as it was a hard game," he added.
